The Question is: On an alpha 500 running V7.1-1h2 and the license for UCX with an expiration date of 30-aug-2000, when I login a TELNET session I get the message: No license is active for this software product FTP and Ping work fine. Telnet was working two weeks ago (in August). My OpenVMS license has no expiration date. What license am I missing or has expired? The Answer is : Please contact the DIGITAL Customer Support Center (CSC) directly for assistance in troubleshooting this question. The OpenVMS Wizard will assume this system is either a DIGITAL Personal Workstation 500au, or (less likely) an AlphaStation 500 system. Which version of TCP/IP Services? The OpenVMS Wizard would expect a minimum of TCP/IP Services V4.2 with the current ECO, or V5.0 or V5.0a or later with OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-1H1 system. (The OpenVMS Wizard would also recommend an upgrade to V7.1-2.) Is your system time mis-set? Are you potentially receiving a failure for another product? Also see topic 2414 here in Ask The Wizard for information on locating the particular source of the license problem, and for information on the LMF$DISPLAY_OPCOM_MESSAGE mechanism.
