The Question is: Q1. Digital LA 424 printers are connected to Alpha 164 LX through DEC 700-8 print server. My problems now are a) How to configure DEC 700-8 either accessing through Alpha 164 LX or by connecting VT 510 monitor to Port1? (note: when I connected VT 510 monitor no prompt is coming and DEC 700-8's position on LED is E) b) We lost suddenly supply to the Alpha 164 LX (which is unix based) and DEC 700-8 print server, I restored Alpha server and switched on DEC 700-8 also, but DEC 700-8 is switching between states "4" and "3" saying trying to connect to the host? What is the reason that it lost the connection to the host and how to restore the system to function ? I request you to kindly give me the procedure? thanking you very much. The Answer is : This question is a continuation of topic 3086 -- please expect at least a week to transpire before your question(s) might receive an answer. This question is clearly not an OpenVMS question -- this involves the configuration of DECserver terminal servers from the UNIX system running on the AlphaPC 164LX. (OpenVMS is not supported on the AlphaPC 164LX.) The OpenVMS Wizard is not particularly familiar with the care and feeding of Tru64 or other UNIX systems, and is not in a position to provide assistance with questions on platforms other than OpenVMS. Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center for assistance with the UNIX system and with the DECserver.
