The Question is: I have a layered product running on a Vax 3100-M76/32M mem/rz 26 HDs/assorted tapes, cdroms, etc I am attemping to run in VWS (required) rather then Motif. I have VWS licensed and loaded, booting in Motif is fine, but sysbooting in VWS (use VWS.par) afte r VWS parameters have been generated tells me that no graphics device can be found. Even after loading an image from a working VWS (same type VAX) no graphics device is found. What am I doing wrong? The Answer is : The OpenVMS Wizard will assume that the WINDOW_SYSTEM parameter is set to the correct value (2) for VWS, and that VWS V4.3 or later is loaded. You probably have an SPX controller, and VWS supports only the GPX series controller. Further, VWS V4.3 is the minimum version for the VAXstation 3100 model 76 series. The OpenVMS Wizard would recommend evaluating the use of the UISX interface, and also will assume you are aware that VWS was replaced by DECwindows back around (as it was then known) VAX/VMS V5.1.
