The Question is: A customer is worried about the security of passwords passed via a telnet network session. Is there any way of encrypting the VMS user password which is transfered via telnet over the network, so that it cannot be read via a network sniffer device. The Answer is : Only via an encrypting bridge or tunnel or firewall, or via the use of a one-time password, or equivalent network crypto.
