The Question is: I've had Alpha based NT systems for quite some time now (uhm, since 1992 to be exact). I've had a great time using them and they've been most productive for me. Unfortunately, they have a limited life left from a software support perspective, thank Q ve ry much. I've been doing OpenVMS for a whole lot longer than NT, and I'd like to be able to put OpenVMS on my systems. Unfortunately, I've got systems not called out in the SPD as being supported, specifically a PC64 and a PC164SX. Since Compaq has pulled the plug on NT on these boxes, is any effort being given to making a real OS available on them? I liken this effort to the work done to get the Multia to work with OpenVMS; I understand that it's not officially supported, but I'd be happy as 2 of those systems mentioned before are my personal Alphas and I'm not ready to go to Linux yet! I know of a lot of other Alpha NT bigots who are in the same boat and would love to get their hands on the OpenVMS hobbyist kit & license for the SX's!!! Your wisdom is desired. Best regards, Aaron The Answer is : The OpenVMS Wizard will pass this request along to the OpenVMS Product Management Staff. As per the FAQ, there is presently no support for these platfoms under OpenVMS.
