The Answer is :

 
  Without details of the particular failure (eg: is this a
  file structure error, or a hard disk failure), this question
  is impossible to address here in Ask The Wizard.  Please work
  with Progress support and the Compaq Customer Support Center
  directly to resolve this, and please also (obviously) review
