The Question is: Hello I wonder if you have any advice on how to copy an OpenVMS installation CD to another CD. We have borrowed a 6.2-1H3 CD from a supplier to upgrade our systems from 6.2-1H1 and, as the supplier would like his CDs back, we would like to copy them first. We have a CD writer on a WINTEL box which we would like to use. I have checked the FAQ and previous posts on Ask-the-wizard which, while informative, did not help. Any suggestions you may have will be appreciated The Answer is : Ignoring all legal and contractual questions around copyrights and the unauthorized duplication of media... For circa US$22, you can order your own official copy of OpenVMS Alpha V6.2-1H3. See the FAQ for details and for the part number, and contact Compaq or your Compaq reseller to order your copy. In regard to your statement "... which, while informative, did not help..." -- details on your particular puzzlement(s) would be very helpful in composing an answer. (This can be treated as a direct block-oriented data replication, and should be easily possible on most any platform permitting CD-R operations -- assuming that the local regulations and applicable contracts permit this, of course.)
