Can parity errors while trying to retrieve save sets from a tk50 tape be
resolved so that the other save sets can be retrieved?

The Answer is :

 
  The answer depends highly on the particular cause of the parity errors.
  These errors can arise from causes such as a contaminated or malfunctioning
  read-write head, an I/O hardware problem, a software problem, or a media
  problem.
 
  Please contact your hardware support organization as a first step.
 
  If this does prove to be a media problem, there are organizations that
