The Question is: We have continued to use PCSA MAC even though support has been discontinued. All has been well until OS9. PCSA MAC 1.3 (the last released version i beleive) does not work. What are my options for a MAC accessable server software? Is there any 3rd party OpenVMS MAC server software? Do I have to now run another operating system to support the MACS? We are using VMS for high availibility, disk shadowing, security , Y2k, no viruses, batch facilities, backup integrity.... And would like to avoid a 4th operating system with the unavoidable learning curves. The data is also shared with our WIN NT workstations in a publishing enviorment (50 - 200 Meg files). What are my options? The Answer is : Support for PATHWORKS for Macintosh is/was available via Software Resources International S.A. (SRI) of Geneva, Switzerland, including the availability of the 1.3A release of PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (Macintosh). Dave by Thursby Software is a potential option. On the Macintosh, any available NFS- or SMB-capable client access would be another potential option. The OpenVMS Wizard would recommend checking with a Macintosh Wizard or with the Apple website search engines for assistance. Also see: http://til.info.apple.com/techinfo.nsf/artnum/n60032 The OpenVMS Wizard is not familiar with the current status of the compatibility of 1.3A with Macintosh OS 9.
