The Question is:

 
Improving performance with a Alpha using TCP/IP and a FastEthernet
connection.  Currently we see about 20Mbps on the Ethernet using a DE500

  seeking assistance in obtaining yet faster performance -- you will end
  up with a variety of avenues of investigation, including the values of
  the process quotas and I/O-related system parameters, the TCP/IP Services
  configuration, the run-time environment and system loading for the host
  systems involved, information on the protocol design in use, and some
  research on the aggregate network bandwidth available to the application.
