The Question is: We are trying to configure mail services for SMTP. We would like to use a Windows NT DNS service for name resolution, but can't get the domain or bind server configuration to work. When we enter the domain name "joa.com" we get the following error. %ucx-e-ineterror, error accesing internet -ucx-e-invqual, invalid qualifier value for /local_host -rms-f-rac, invalid record access mode ucx$config error error while generating valid domain name. Infact we are pretty confused on the entire process. Perhaps there is some ducumentation to step us through this process. Thank you much Jeff Pride The Answer is : The OpenVMS Wizard would recommend an upgrade to TCP/IP V5.0A. The OpenVMS Wizard would first use the TCP/IP Server version of DNS, to simplify the initial debugging and avoid the potential involvement of any sort of platform-level incompatibilities. Documentation for TCP/IP and SMTP configuration is available at: http://www.openvms.digital.com:8000/ Without information on the exact command or sequence used to generate this error, the OpenVMS Wizard will have some trouble answering. The particular TCP/IP Version and ECO is be of interest, as well.
