The Question is: I renamed one of my alphas, basically following the same steps as the proceedure in your FAQ. I even ran DECNET_REGISTER. The machine now lists itself as the new name with the correct address and other alphas all work ok and can set host to it without any problem. The area is mixed phaseIV and V. The problem is when setting host on the renamed alpha, the old addresses are used when translating names. (It does connect correctly when given the numerical addresses.) The Answer is : This is surprising if you are using the local node database and have restarted the node after making the change. This is not surprising if you are using DNS for the node database and are encountering incorrect or stale contents in the database. Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center for assistance.
