Disabling Network Controller?

The Question is:

 
I want to upgrade to a DE500-BA ethernet controller on my AS2100 that has a
 default 10BaseT controller on the "I/O card"
which I need to keep for it's SCSI adapter.  I want to ignore the EWA card and
 only use the EWB card for UCX v4.1 and DECnet IV.
 
Is this possible and where might I find the details on how to re-config UCX and
 DECnet to switch to the new controller?

  NCP> SET LINE [controller] STATE OFF
  NCP> DEFINE LINE [controller] STATE OFF
  NCP> SET CIRCUIT [controller] STATE OFF
  NCP> DEFINE CIRCUIT [controller] STATE OFF
