The Question is: I have the zlxp-e(tga) controller in my alpha and a vga monitor. When it boots up the resolution is high and the character set small. When I try to use the edit/tpu editor, it only takes up half the screen. How can I change the screen resolution? I am not running DecWindows. The server runs but no login screen pops up. I'm left to rely on Edit for editing files. Can you help? Thanks Dave The Answer is : The OpenVMS Wizard is unsure exactly how you are operating, as the use of DECwindows is expected in this configuration -- this appears to be a configuration or startup problem with DECwindows. (If you are running in the "glass TTY" mode -- without DECwindows started -- then you will have a variety of problems.) Please use AUTOGEN and please set the required system parameters for use with DECwindows (see the DECwindows documentation and the OpenVMS FAQ for information relevent to DECwindows parameter settings), and first get DECwindows operating. This includes getting to the appropriate version and ECO (if any) of DECwindows installed for the current environment. Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center for assistance.
