Configuring an OpenVMS FDDI Cluster?

The Question is:

 
We have 4 Alpha DS20s which already have FDDI controllers (DEFPA-AB) and wish
 to connect them in an FDDI Cluster.
 
Is it true that I can connect two machines together with just a FDDI (BN34)
 cable and is this supported? Also if I want to connect more than 2 machines
 what do I need to purchase?

The Answer is :

 
  Use of a concentrator or switch is generally recommended, though it
  is possible to directly connect multiple systems to the FDDI ring.
