The Question is: When sending an email to an exchange server the personal name does not appear in the from field, instead it is in the format of userid@domain.com. A personal name has been set. This is on our alphas running ucx v4.2 -eco 1. However, if a message is sent from one of our vax servers OpenVMS 7.1 running MultinNet v4.0 rev b-x the personal name appears correctly. Is there some setting in ucx to fix this? The Answer is : TCP/IP Services V5.0A ECO 1 (with SMTP ECO C and later) offers access to the SMTP (RFC 822) From: and Return-Path: headers, which are how information similar to the personal name can be transmitted over to a remote system. SMTP ECO C and later will append the personal name to the specified value.
