The Question is:

 
How can I control the time delay between a call to TCPIP send() and actual
 transmission? Some send() calls I would like to have result in instant
 transmission while others can wait for such a call or for TCPIP to coalesce
 packages. How does X-Windows do i
t (the response to mouse clicks is always instantaneous)?
