The Question is: How do I delete a virtual unit (DSA)? - without rebooting! Case: $ Mount DSA99 /shad=$4$somediske: label $ Dismount DSA99 Then I'm still stuck with DSA99 with no members, and I want to get rid of it. The Answer is : There is no supported way to delete any OpenVMS I/O database device entry from the OpenVMS I/O database. (Other than performing a system reboot, of course.) The I/O data structures consume several hundred bytes of storage, and are otherwise harmless.
