The Question is: I need to find out the MAXIMUM_TRANSFER_SIZE no our HSZ controllers. What am I supposed to do? I need this in order to tune a database. Thanks a lot, Armand The Answer is : Please contact the database vendor for assistance and suggestions with tuning the database configuration -- the transfer size caching is less a question that can be answered in isolation than a question of coordination of the configuration the HSZ controller and of the host application software I/O patterns. The HSZ documentation describes how to set up the maximum transfer size to be cached within the controller, and the HSZ series devices are capable of handling and caching rather larger kilobyte transfers. If you set the maximum transfer size too small, the HSZ controller will perform write-through operations and will not cache the data. The VTDPY utility can provide you with the average I/O size generated by the host application. You will also want to evaluate the cache hit rate, and the queue depth.
