The Question is: We are Running pathworks 5.0E. In the install path of the pathworks spool directory their are a large amount of files with the PWRK$SPOOL prefix and a DAT file extension. some of these file have create dates years old. Why aren't these files purged by pathworks or is this a overlook administrative task on my part. Can i safely delete all of these files to reclaim disk space? The Answer is : Your PATHWORKS version is very old. Various fixes to OpenVMS and to PATHWORKS have been made over the years since OpenVMS VAX V6.1 and PATHWORKS V5.0E were released. You can safely delete these files, without incurring any harm. Clearly, the files are not being deleted during the printing process. Check the PATHWORKS log files for any printing or deletion errors. If you are unable to upgrade to more recent OpenVMS VAX and PATHWORKS versions, please at least apply the available ECOs.
