Large Disks on older OpenVMS VAX?

The Question is:

 
We have a VAX CI cluster, HSJ40's with HSOF 2.7. We would like to use some 9 or
 maybe even 18 GB drives in this config. Can you tell me what the first version
 of HSOF is that supports 9 GB drives, in combination with OpenVMS VAX v.5.5-2.
 An URL with OLD H
SOF information is also very welcome.
