UNIX user seeks text editor?

The Question is:

 
in UNIX there is the SED command (Stream Text Editor).  How can one accomplish
 this in the VMS system?  Is there a comparable method?

  Um, using the available sed text editor?  Versions of vi, emacs,
  sed, and other text editors are all available for OpenVMS.
 
  For examples of each, look to the Freeware V4.0 distribution, among
