AlphaStation 600 hardware error?

The Question is:

 
One of Alpha workstations AS 600 5/333
at our department fails to boot the console.
At the time the boot process has blocked,
the LCD display reads 'SROM 1.2 f4'.
I suppose that f4 represents the
diagnostic code, and would like
to know its meaning.
I would also like to know whether there are
online resources for this platform since
the computers have been donated by Compaq
without any documentation.

  First, determine if anything has changed with this system hardware
  configuration.  Then please contact your hardware service provider
