HP OpenVMS Systemsask the wizard |
The Question is: The question I have is reguarding security. I know that OpenVMS71 meets the governments C2 requirements. However, I need to know what is needed to make OpenVMS71 B1 compliant. I saw that it was an option for 7.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron The Answer is : OpenVMS targets NCSC Class C2 features and capabilities, and specific OpenVMS releases have been formally evaluated as being NCSC Class C2 compliant while other OpenVMS releases provide NCSC Class C2 features and capabilities. OpenVMS with the SEVMS package installed targets NCSC Class B1 security compliance, and specific releases have been formally evaluated as NCSC Class B1 compliant while other releases have NCSC Class B1 features and capabilities. (SEVMS is available only for specific versions of OpenVMS.) NCSC Class C2 is discretionary security, while NCSC Class B1 provides mandatory access control (non-discretionary) security features.
