Removing or Reloading Device Driver?

» close window

The Question is:

Is there anyway to reload a device driver that has already been loaded without
rebooting the system? Specifically, I am trying to upgrade to AMDS 7.3-A from
AMDS 7.2. I even completed removed the old version of AMDS, including the
 SYS$RMDRIVER.EXE file fo
r RMA0: that it uses, and installed AMDS 7.3-A from scratch. Upon startup, I
get an error stating that %AMDS-F-OLDRM, an incompatible version of Data
 Provider is loaded and running.

I'm guessing because the old RMA0 device is sitting out there, with the old
SYS$RMDRIVER loaded into memory. So, is there anyway to force a reload of the
 SYS$RMDRIVER without doing a reboot?

Thanks in advance,
Don

The Answer is :

No, there is presently no way to shut down and remove or replace
a device driver short of a system reboot.
