Disk I/O Performance Statistics?

The Question is:

 
Hi Wiz,
 
I am currently running 2 clustered environments (2 X GS60 and 2 X ES40 Alphas)
 on OpenVMS 7.1-2
 
We are considering integrating them into our SAN storage solution but require
 more information on what would be the best cost/performance solution for our
 systems.
 
More specifically, I was wondering where I could find data/statistics on
 performace pertaining to RZ1Fx disks and statistics for read/write performace
 for different configurations of the disks (eg comparison between RAID 5 and
 0+1 etc...)
 
Also what would be a better solution if the files accessed are numerous but
 small in size
or the other way round.
