Configuring a Modem on OpenVMS?

The Question is:

 
I am trying to hook up a modem to a decserver 200.  I am having problems with
 the port characteristics.  What characteristics need to be enables so that the
 modem will comunicate with the decserver.

  for the particular task of configurating a DECserver and a modem.
