The Question is: We regularly experience UCX problems on our Alpha. The symptoms almost always include being unable to to connect via Telnet, and will sometimes also affect connectivity to the Alpha shares. While the problem is being experienced, the Alpha will reply to ping requests. Checking Pathworks and UCX services show things OK, HOWEVER, performing [UCX sho comm /mem] will show small buffers reaching (or at) their peak value, with the wait count very high (no drops). I increased the small buffer max to 2000, th en to 4000 at Compaq's advice, but this has not fixed problem. I also applied UCX ECO4 patch recently...no help there either. Will greatly appreciate any help. Thanks Zeyad The Answer is : Please move to supported product releases. This includes upgrading to OpenVMS V7.1-2 (and ECOs) or later, and to TCP/IP Services V5.0A (and ECOs) or later, and to the current PATHWORKS or Advanced Server release.
