The Question is:

 
Do you know if this problem, documented in an article on DSNlink, has been or
 is being addressed by engineering? We haven't been able to get any feedback on
 it yet from any Compaq representative.

The Answer is :

 
  The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you have switched from XFC to VIOC
  prior to the installation of the upcoming XFC V2.0 (and later) ECO
  kits -- by setting the system parameter VCC_FLAGS to 1.
 
  Since you will clearly have already installed the Shadowing, XQP,
  and other available OpenVMS ECO kits, the OpenVMS Wizard would
  encourage continued discussions with the Compaq Customer Support
  Center, working toward a resolution of this apparent problem.
 
  The OpenVMS Wizard is unable to access and to provide the status
  of any existing, outstanding support or problem report calls --
  please contact the support center directly for this information,
  and for assistance in resolving site-critical or time-critical
  problems with OpenVMS.  Further, the call status may (will?) have
  changed within the typical response turn-around time-frame of the
  Ask The Wizard area.
