The Question is: Does it matter that the version number of sys$system:DNS$CACHE.VERSION is 32767 I know that file numbers beyond 32767 are not created, but as this is a system file, is there any problems with this not incrementing versions. The contents just seem to be the previous version i.e. 32766 The Answer is : DNS should wrap this version automatically, though in this particular case and this particular OpenVMS version, the OpenVMS Wizard would expect that you will want to (need to) install the current available DECnet-Plus ECO kit.
