RMS File Pattern Replacement?

The Question is:

 
Is there a way to convert tabs in an RMS file to spaces (besides opening the
 file using "EDIT/TPU" and using the "convert tabs" command)?

The Answer is :

 
  In addition to using a tool (python, perl, dcl, editor, etc) that can
  perform a pattern replacement, the other options here are effectively
