The Question is: Hello Support: I need to compile C code on ALPHA 7.2. What is the name of the compiler? If I does not have the C compiler, Is there any link where I can get some freeware ? If the HP C compiler is installed on your OpenVMS system, the command CC/VERSION should produce details of the configuration. For pointers to the OpenVMS Freeware as well as to other available software packages, please see the pointers in the OpenVMS FAQ. For one of various availables examples, please see topic (2486).
