BACKUP and PROCINDEX, ACCVIO error?

» close window

The Question is:

Dear Wizard,
I have the following problem, when I try to do an image backup the
 following happens:
$backup /image/ignore=nobackup slama$dka400: slama$dka500:
%BACKUP-F-PROCINDEX, error processing index file on slama$dka400:, RVN 1
-SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=00, virtual
 address=00000000000000, PC=0000000000000000000000000, PS=00000000000000
It's the same for all the disks that I try to backup. What's the reason?

The Answer is :

One of the most common -- but not the only -- causes of the PROCINDEX
and ACCVIO pairing within BACKUP is the process quota setting. (That
BACKUP can even generate this ACCVIO is quite unfortunate, obviously.)

Please set the BACKUP username process quotas to the process quota
values (or potentially to larger values, while maintaining the
proportions among the values) as discussed in the OpenVMS System
Manager's Essentials manual (in the section on configuring the
BACKUP operator's username), and please ensure you have the current
set of mandatory ECO kits installed.

To find the list of mandatory ECOs easily, please visit the ECO
search engine referenced in the OpenVMS FAQ.

If the problem persists with appropriate quota settings and with the
current ECOs installed,, please contact the support center directly.
