The Question is:

 
Hello,
 
just a quick question hopefully - we currently use "Pathworks v6.0 (Advanced
 Server)" on OpenVMS 7.2-1.
 
When we move to OpenVMS7.3 we will hopefully use "Advanced Server v7" instead.
 
The question is : is this new version of 'Pathworks' multi-CPU capable - i.e.
 does this new version still have the "PWRK$LMSRV" process that does ALL the
 major work and is tied to one CPU....

The Answer is :

    Advanced Server V7.3A, the current release, contains significant
    enhancements targetted at improving performance of the PWRK$LMSRV
    process.
 
    The enhancement requested here, the ability to have multiple PWRK$LMSRV
    processes running on multiple CPUs is part of our planned scalability
    enhancements.
 
    The scalability release is on the OpenVMS Rolling Roadmap
    (http://www.openvms.compaq.com/openvms/roadmap/openvms_roadmaps.htm)
    in the 2004/2005 time frame.
