Installing OpenVMS Alpha? (take I)

The Question is:

 
We have a new Alpha DS10 that is a Unix-SKU (with Unix preloaded). We want to
 install v7.3-1 of OpenVMS in place of unix .. we have the firmware and vms
 install cds and licenses. Is there any more that we need, and how do we go
 about it?

The Answer is :

 
  Set the SRM console OS_TYPE to VMS, and follow the OpenVMS software
  installation instructions.  The OpenVMS documentation is referenced
  in the OpenVMS FAQ, and is available at the OpenVMS website.
