The Question is: Is is possible to back up a file into a saveset but with a different name? We currently backup a file, lets call it xxx.x into a saveset on a DLT tape. So we use $backup xxx.x mkb6:saveset.bck What we want to do is back the file up into the same saveset but as xxx.y Can this be done using the backup command? Regards, Adrian Fisher Marston Book Services Abingson Oxfordshsire UK The Answer is : BACKUP does not provide the capability to rename a file while said file is being transfered into the target saveset. BACKUP expects that the filename will be consistent from the original archive operation through to any eventual file restoration operation.
