Best PCL Communications with Printer?

The Question is:

 
How and/or what is the best way to send PCL commands to printers?

The Answer is :

 
  Via telegraph, telephone, stenographer and courier, network, dog sled,
  signal flags, or whatever appropriate communications mechanism is
  available?  (And never underestimate the bandwidth of a truckload of
  DVD+R disks -- the latency isn't so good, but the bandwidth is huge.)
