The Question is:

 
where can i find details of the committment to the long-term future development
 and support of Alpha OpenVMS?

The Answer is :

 
  New AlphaServer systems through (at least) 2006 and support through
  (at least) 2011, and OpenVMS is being ported to Itanium systems.
 
  As for additional information, please see the OpenVMS website, and
  (for a formal committment letter) please contact your HP reseller
  or HP sales representative.
 
  Please see the Itanium information available at the OpenVMS website
  (http://www.hp.com/products/openvms/), and particular the Itanium
  and Alpha investment protection programs that are available via the
  Itanium link at the OpenVMS website.
 
  Also see the OpenVMS rolling roadmap for more detailed technical
  information on future features planned, schedules, and releases.
 
  Internally, the same source code pool is being used both for Alpha
  and for Itanium development.  (VAX and Alpha use separate code
