The Question is:

 
What is the preferred path from OpenVMS Alpha V6.2-1H3 to V7.3-1?
 
From the FAQ, it looks like I can get to V7.2-1, but no path is shown to get
 from there to V7.2-2 or V7.3, the predecessors to V7.3-1, or directly to
 V7.3-1.  Is there an implied hop from V7.2-1 to V7.2-2?  I would prefer to do
 just one upgrade, and at mo
st two.
 
A matrix showing potential (and preferred) migration paths in the FAQ would
 really help.
 

The Answer is :

 
  Per the OpenVMS Alpha V7.3-1 Upgrade documentation:
 
    "5.1.2  Upgrade Paths
 
    The following sections describe the various types of upgrades
    to Version 7.3-1.
 
    5.1.2.1  Direct Upgrade Paths
 
    You can upgrade directly to OpenVMS Alpha Version 7.3-1 from
    only the following versions of OpenVMS Alpha:
 
      Version 7.3
      Version 7.2-2
      Version 7.2-1
      Version 7.2-1H1
      Version 7.1-2
 
    If you are currently running OpenVMS Alpha Version 6.2x, you
    can do a two-step upgrade: first to Version 7.2-2 or 7.3, and
    then to Version 7.3-1."
 
  The OpenVMS Wizard would encourage you to seriously consider reading
  the available upgrade and release notes available at the OpenVMS
  documentation, for all releases you are upgrading over and for the
  release that you are upgrading to.
 
  As for FAQ feedback, please notify the FAQ maintainer of your
  request(s) -- and that said, the OpenVMS Wizard would assume that
  the upgrade matrix requested would be easier to conceive than to
  represent in text.  The OpenVMS Wizard will pass this discussion
  and the text of this answer along to the feedback email address
  that is available within the OpenVMS FAQ, for consideration and
