The Question is: I am printing to a HP laserjet 8150dn across tcp/ip and am currently experiencing a blank page on every second page printed. PLease can you tell me where I might resolve this problem. I understand this query might be slightly outside your rules. Thank you The Answer is : This would imply the printer page length is incompatible with what OpenVMS believes is the page length, or that the file contains extra formfeed characters or other sequences that are triggering a page eject on the printer. This could also be associated with the queue forms settings, or potentially a result of the printer's specific requirements around the setting of the TCPIP$TELNETSYM_SUPPRESS_FORMFEEDS (or see UCX$TELNETSYM_SUPPRESS_FORMFEEDS on releases prior to V5.0) as described in topic (1020). Other potentially-related topics can include (850), (1020) (5271), (8189) and (on the chance that this is related to outdated printer firmware) also consider suggestion made in (3917); check the printer firmware and update if needed. It is also possible that the printer or the NIC is set to provide this, or that there is something related to (say) the duplexer processing. Check the printer documentation, in other words. Please contact the support center, as details of the queue configuration, the device control library, the TCP/IP stack version and ECO, DCPS (if in use), and the printer will be required. For details on the printers that DCPS officially supports, please see the current DCPS Software Product Description (SPD). Pointers to SPDs are available via the FAQ.
