The Question is: We are using the LAT protocol and WRQ Reflection software to connect our WIN98 machines to the VAX. How do we set up the VAX to use a TCP/IP connection so we can use our WINXP machines to connect to the VAX? Thank you! The Answer is : At a minimum, IP operations require you to install a TCP/IP stack on OpenVMS VAX V5.5-2, either TCP/IP Services or a third-party IP stack. You will then need to configure the IP stack, using the product-specific mechanism; see the IP stack documentation. As of this writing, V7.3 is the current OpenVMS VAX release, and TCP/IP Services V5.3 is the current IP stack version. For discussions of Windows XP and Advanced Server and the PATHWORKS 32 Windows client package, please see existing discussions elsewhere -- the Advanced Server package provides file, print and other services for Microsoft Windows systems and compatibility with Microsoft networks, and the PATHWORKS 32 client package can provide applications, DECnet DECnet networking capabilities and other features on Windows clients specifically for operating with and for networking with OpenVMS systems.
