The Question is: How can we change the IP address to our vax box, in order to insert it into our local network? The Answer is : Information on changing the IP host address(es) is mentioned in various existing Ask The Wizard topics, including the following: (430), (1069), (3991), (5777), (5906), (7710), (8004), etc. The OpenVMS FAQ contains pointers to the OpenVMS documentation website; to the website with the OpenVMS operating system documentation and also particularly with the TCP/IP Services HTML-format product documentation necessary for this particular question. Specifically, the TCP/IP documentation will encourage you to select the DHCP client support for the IP address (enabled using the UCX$CONFIG tool on TCP/IP Services releases prior to V5.0, or the TCPIP$CONFIG tool on V5.0 and later), or you will want to use the UCX$CONFIG or the TCPIP$CONFIG tool to change the static IP host address for the OpenVMS VAX host. The DHCP client support is first available with TCP/IP Services V5.3. For DHCP discussions, please see topics including (7954) and (4507), and (of course) the TCP/IP Services documentation. For a third-party IP stack, please contact the third-party vendor. There is no OpenVMS VAX V7.3-1 release.
