The Question is: How I can see BIOS version my Alpha without reboot ( with command OpenVMS) ? The Answer is : The OpenVMS Wizard will assume this is a request for the SRM PALcode and OpenVMS console versions, and not for the version of the AlphaBIOS firmware. If this assumption holds, one of the most common OpenVMS commands used to display both the SRM PALcode and the SRM console version is embedded within the ANALYZE command: $ ANALYZE/SYSTEM CLUE CONFIGURATION EXIT On sufficiently recent OpenVMS Alpha versions, the SHOW CPU/FULL DCL command can also be used to display the PALcode version. (Though not the SRM console version.) The PALcode and the SRM console are packaged together within each particular firmware distribution, while the version numbers associated with the PALcode, the SRM console and the firmware distribution should not be confused. For information on the current firmware and on acquiring the console firmware, please see the pointers in OpenVMS FAQ. The firmware distribution release notes will list the PALcode and SRM console versions contained within the kit for use on each Alpha platform. The OpenVMS release documentation will generally provide the required minimum firmware version. Other firmware-related discussions are available. Please see topics (1890), (2683) and (8169), and likely others.
