HP OpenVMS Systemsask the wizard |
The Question is: I have a Vax 7710 running in a clustered environment (with a Vax 6610). On two separate occasions, I have had my system come up with the wrong date and time after a cold boot, resulting in all LOG files >30 days old being purged, batch jobs launching, etc ... The following shows the date & time of reboot: System last booted at 8-JUL-2004 15:44:36.84 The actual date & time were 19-sep-2003:13:15 Prior to the system crashing (PDU failure), the date & time were correct. What could cause the system to boot with this date & what can be done to correct this problem. Thank you, Bert The Answer is : Please review the information on maintaining the system time present in the OpenVMS FAQ, and particularly around the need for the occasional SET TIME command on OpenVMS VAX systems. Other information related to the clock battery, the TDF and daylight savings time settings, and other such trivia is also present within the OpenVMS FAQ.
