The Question is: I have a MicroVAX II I purchased from a company that phased it out. At the time Digital still existed. The company paid the $300 fee to have the VMS license transferred to me. I now have a PAK for 8-user VMS on a MicroVAX II. I purchased a Pascal sing le user license and SSU license as well. According to the VMS SPD, 7.2 is the last version supported on the MicroVAX II. I also have a MicroVAX 3100 I use the hobbiest license with. I'm about to upgrade it to 7.3. Is there any way to convert these old PAKS/licenses to be current for a different machine? I want to retain their value. For example, can the MicroVAX II license be converted to a MicroVAX 3100/90 license? Could I still use the hobbiest license for the layered products (non-commercial use )? The Answer is : You have reached the OpenVMS Wizard, and not the license transfer Wizard. Please visit the Software Licensing Website for details on license transfers. In the OpenVMS FAQ, also please review the section "How do I obtain or transfer an OpenVMS license?" Information and the License Unit Requirements Table (LURT) for various VAX and Alpha platforms are available at the Software Licensing website, and a pointer to the LURT and related information is in the FAQ. (The OpenVMS Wizard would not expect a license for what is likely an ancient OpenVMS VAX version to have much value -- without also having a Right to Upgrade license, that is.)
