OpenVMS Alpha and AlphaServer Support Plans?

The Question is:

 
I have checked your faq, searched HP.  A software vendor that we are looking at
 is swearing up and down that they have an 'agreement' with HP to extend the
 support for Open VMS and the Alpha Servers for another 10 years.  When I have
 looked on hp I found
a briefing dated march 2004 it states that support will be up to 2011.  They
 said the agreement was a very recent one. Can you please tell me what's going
 on, who can I believe?

The Answer is :

 
  OpenVMS I64 V8.1 is available now for HP Integrity Servers and
  the Itanium platform, and the V8.2 release is currently scheduled
  for availability later this year.
 
  Please contact your HP services organization representative and/or
  your local OpenVMS Ambassador for specific commitments or other
  formal OpenVMS Alpha and AlphaServer hardware support statements
  beyond those already posted at the website.
 
  Public statements indicate AlphaServer hardware support through at
  least 2011.
 
  HP OpenVMS operating system roadmaps are available at the OpenVMS
