The Question is: The configuration is an Alpha VMS with HSG80 storage. I had an exiting stripe set that I converted to a CONCATSET and then added a second stripe set to that. Question: How do I now make the addition storage area available to VMS ( extend the bitmap to i nclude the new storage space )? Do I need to init and restore the drive each time, or is there a more expedient method? An ANA/REPAIR identifies the issue, but does not extend it. The Answer is : For information on StorageWorks, please contact a StorageWorks Wizard. As for extending the bitmap, the only way to do that prior to V7.3-2 is to re-initialize the volume with the INITIALIZE command, typically in conjunction with a subsequent BACKUP/NOINITIALIZE restoration of the volume contents if the volume contents are to be preserved. V7.3-2 and later include Dynamic Volume Extension support, as referenced in topic (9349).
