The Question is: Hi, We have an Alpha ES40 cluster running VMS 7.3-1 and I have few users batch jobs that started failing with "-SYSTEM-F-INSFP1POOL, insufficient process dynamic memory". The help on the error message advise to either reduce the demand for space, perhaps by using fewer process logical names, or increase the available space by raising the value of the SYSGEN parameter CTLPAGES. Can you please provide a bit more information on the nature of this error message, how does number of logical names and sybols affect this memory region and if there is something else other then CTLPAGES that can be done to aleviate this problem. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Nedo The Answer is : It initially appears that this system and particularly this process has too many logical names or symbols, or too little space configured to store said structures. You can attempt to work around this by either decreasing the numbers of process logical names or symbols, or you can increase the available storage by resetting the system parameter CTLPAGES and rebooting. Since you are apparently unable or unwilling to increase the system parameter and reboot at this time, you will be left with the former course of action; you must reduce the demands on the process storage by reducing the numbers of process logical names and symbols within this and other processes reporting INSFP1POOL.
