Altering/Forging SMTP mail from address? (take II)

The Question is:

 
Hi,
Is it possible to create a situation that will rewrite the From: line for mail
 being sent from a particular user on a VMS host. We would want to rewrite
 completely the host.domain part
as the mail would be sent  externally and we have a different internal dns name
 to the external mail domain and to get the mail to an SMS gateway we need to
 have the known mail domain on the address.
 
e.g. host.somewhere.org would be re-written as  somewhere.com
VMS 7.3-1 and TCPIP Services 5.3

The Answer is :

 
  Please review the available documentation for the TCPIP$SMTP_FROM
  logical name, as referenced and as included within the TCP/IP
  Services documentation set.  This logical name -- translating to
  a quoted string containing the prefered SMTP mail address -- can
  be used to alter the SMTP mail FROM address.  Details in the docs.
