The Question is:

 
Does the NTP client on our version of OpenVMS submit NTP version 1, version 2
 or version 3 frames? Does the client require any other authentication methods
 besides DES and MD5 cryptographic checksums? Does the client require the
 server to operate in symme
tric operation mode? Thank you.

The Answer is :

 
  In general, there is no particular need to know the NTP version
  or other such details for a default installation -- simply
  configure and start the NTP client per the documentation.
 
  With current TCP/IP Services, see the ntpc tool.
 
  Please contact the support center, as details of the particular
  TCP/IP Stack and NTP client will be of interest, and as details
  of the particular requirements will be of interest.
 
  The current protocol with TCP/IP Services V5.4 is ntpd 4.1.0.
